Pirate ship in Rethymno

Pirate cruises from the old Venetian harbour of Rethymno.

The cruise in a pirate ship, Barbarossa or Captain Hook, goes east and it follows the north coast of Crete, it takes about three hours and is meant for the whole family. Ships are furnished like “real” pirate ships and even the pirate himself is there too. This three hour cruise follows closely the coast line so the profile of Crete is well seen. During the cruise we see “pirate caves” shaped by the sea and we see also the “camarola” arch. If the weather is good, the ship stops close to the beach before it turns back so that the passengers could swim in the crystal clear water.

The ship leaves from the old harbour where there is easy access, also with prams which can be taken into the ship

The pirate ship looks like a “real” pirate ship

The ship leaves from the heart of Rethymno, the old Venetian harbour, and returns to the same place

Refreshingly cool sea breeze in a sweltering weather is a nice experience.

Recommended age is 5+ years, but even smaller children can go with the others because in the ship there
is room for prams and pushchairs.
The route goes to the beaches of Panormo and Bali. On the way back they go around the Venetian fortress, Fortezza.
